Soft Romantic Look
I know bold looks are usually quite eye-catching, but at times, a soft-eye look can be just as beautiful. The best thing is you probably have all of these colors in your collection or something very similar. The shimmer may be a bit harder to duplicate in your collection if you don’t usually use them. I will try to have several suggestions so you may have something.
Basics for the soft romantic pink look
It is 3 colors in this look and blend. I did use Melani eye primer. This look is also just the standard one color all over the lid. Lighter color in the enter corners. Windshield wiper motion in the crease with a medium color. Darker color on the outer corner and halfway in on the lid. Shimmer is just patted in the middle. Simple and easy. Yes, anyone can do it.
I am not a makeup artist and I have never claimed to be one. Frankly, I needed a soft romantic eye look for an birthday party. I was also working that day so these pictures have my work office blurred out. It may surprise you to know that is was about noon when these pictures were taken. It looks like I just put the makeup on. There is no creasing with the Melani eye primer.

For the matte eye colors, I used my Tarte Tartelette

If you don’t have this palette, that is fine. There are plenty of other eye shadows out there that are similar.

Yes, I know these picture(s) are large. I wanted you to see the colors so you could match them. We all know that camera can add different lighting. I tried my best to get the actual colors in this palette. Also, I wipe off my palettes with alcohol pads. As well as a spray mister with an antibacterial spray or alcohol. No, it hasn’t affected any of my eye shadows in my palettes. Sensitivity eye gals take note.
Matte colors for these eye look
I do love this palette. Matte eye shadows are a classic. They look great on everyone. This palette has such diversity of the matte colors. Rich color that deposit beauty pigment on your eyelid. You can mix to make variations. Tarte eye shadows are fabulous. I have very sensitive eyelids and this palette is perfect for me.
My eyelids are like detectors, if there is a highly allergic ingredient in the product they will know it. They will blow up and even get blisters from some eye products.
Drugstore vs high-end eye shadows
I can’t give you any drugstore eye shadow colors for any of the ones that I used in this palette. Not that all drugstore brands have ingredients high on the allergen list. I have trouble finding drugstore eye shadows that don’t give me an allergic reactions. Even some very popular eye shadows erupt on my eyelids.
Therefore, it is just easier to go to brands that I know are consistent in formula and ingredients..
That doesn’t mean you don’t have brands that you use all of time. Those eye shadows will work great for this look.
Colors that were used in the romantic eye look

The colors I used: Super Mom on the lid, Caregiver on the crease and finally, Best Friend on the lid. Use whatever eye shadow brush that you like, use your fingers if you want. I used a flat eye shadow brush for the super mom and a “ponytail” eye shadow brush for the Caregiver. You may want to use both brushes like I did for Best Friend. Or use your fingers, both will work out well.
Ponytail brush to deposit eye shadow at the edge of the corner and then blended it up and slightly in. Not a V, but more of a soft-defined edge. I cleaned off the ponytail brush and then you need to blend, blend, and blend. Don’t blend away the color, these colors will blend easily together with just a soft touch.
The shimmer on the eyelids

The shimmer is what makes it look romantic and beautiful. It is MAC princess cut. You may have another shadow in your collection that looks similar to this one. You could use a highlighter that is more on the white side, that should work out well.
MAC Princess cut is a beautiful cream eye shadow that can be worn alone. It can be used over the top of any eye shadow. Both cream or powder eye shadows work well with this product. It can be used slightly in the corners of the eyes as I did. You hardly notice it but it does add to the brightness of the eyes.
You could also use this for a highlight on your cheeks if you are very light with it. It is a bit of a color sifter, but very slight.
Simple but romantic eye look
This is a simple and quick romantic eye shadow. No unusual colors or special brushes.
