Soft Romantic Look
I know bold looks are usually quite eye-catching, but at times, a soft-eye look can be just as beautiful. The best thing is you probably have all of these colors in your collection or something very similar. The shimmer may be a bit harder to duplicate in your collection if you don’t usually use them. I will try to have several suggestions so you may have something.
Basics for the soft romantic pink look
It is 3 colors in this look and blend. I did use Melani eye primer. This look also just the standard one color all over the lid, windshield wiper in the crease, and a darker coming up and halfway in on the lid. Shimmer is just patted in the middle. Simple and easy. Yes, anyone can do it. I am not a makeup artist and I have never claimed to be one. Frankly, I needed a soft romantic eye look for an occasion and I was also working that day so these pictures have my work blurred out. It may surprise you to know that is was already a few hours into my day and it looks like I just put the makeup on.
Products used for this soft pink romantic eye look
For the matte eye colors, I used my Tarte Tartelette
If you don’t have this palette, that is fine. There are plenty of other eyeshadows out there that are similar.
Yes, I know these picture(s) are large, but I wanted you to see the colors so you could match them, and this what the closest picture I could get to the actual colors in the palette. Also, I wipe off my palettes with alcohol and I have a spray mister with an antibacterial spray or alcohol. No, it hasn’t affected any of my eyeshadows in my palettes. Sensitivity eye girlys take note.
Matte colors for these eye look
However, I do love this palette and if you like matte eyeshadows this one is a classic and has been around for a long time. I believe that is due to the diversity of the matte colors in the palette and the rich color that they deposit on the eyelid. Tarte eyeshadows are fabulous. I have very sensitive eyelids and this palette is fabulous.
My eyelids are like detectors, if there is a highly allergic ingredient in there they will know it. They will blow up and even get blisters from some eye products.
Drugstore vs high-end eyeshadows
So, I can’t give you any drugstore eyeshadow colors for any of the ones that I used in this palette. Not that all drugstore brands have ingredients high on the allergen list. I find that drugstore brands aren’t as constant with their formulas for eyeshadows even within the same brand and some contain more known high allergens than others. Some, even contain banned ingredients. Therefore, it is just easier to go to brands that are consistent and concussion about allergens. Those brands also demand that their suppliers are too and therefore, I am okay with spending a tiny bit more for those brands.
Like I said, use whatever works for you and that you have available.
Colors that were used in the romantic eye look
I used Super Mom on the lid, Caregiver on the crease and blended up, and finally, Best Friend on the lid and up about a little less than 1/2 way. Use whatever eyeshadow brush that you like, use your fingers if you want. I used a flat eyeshadow brush for the super mom and a “ponytail” eyeshadow brush for the Caregiver. You may want to use both brushes like I did for Best Friend. I wanted to lay down Best Friend eyeshadow from almost 1/2 way on the lid and then blend it up. Or use your fingers, both will work out well.
Then I used the ponytail brush to deposit eyeshadow at the edge of the corner and then blended it up and slightly in. Not a V, but more of a soft-defined edge. I cleaned off the ponytail brush and then you need to blend, blend, and blend. Don’t blend away the color, these colors will blend easily together with just a soft touch.
The shimmer on the eyelids
The shimmer is what makes it look romantic and beautiful. It is MAC princess cut. You may have another shadow in your collection that looks similar to this one. You could use a highlighter that is more on the white side, that should work out well.
I think the MAC Princess cut is a beautiful cream eyeshadow that can be worn alone or over top of any eyeshadow. Both cream or powder eyeshadows work well with this product. If you want to use it just slightly in the corners of the eyes as I did, you hardly notice it but it does add to the brightness of the eyes. You could also use this for a highlight on your cheeks if you are very light with it. It is a bit of a color shifter, but very slight.
Simple but romantic eye look
This is a simple and quick romantic eyeshadow look that anyone can do on their eyes and with what you have already in your collection. No unusual colors or special brushes.
