What are dupes? Products that mimic other products. They are usually mimicking higher-end products for a lower price. But how close are they to the higher-end products they are mimicking?
Not all dupes are created equal, that is true. However, some are so similar you can’t tell the difference and some are far better for a better price point.
I have all of the love for dupes and I have tried a lot of them. Not that I don’t love the high-end products, as well. I do. Who doesn’t like that luxurious feel or the well-made quality of some higher-end products?
One of the most Loved Brands to dupe
I am talking about Charlotte Tilbury products and those products seem to me to be some of the most mimic products. Why? That is quite a debate. I feel like Charlotte and her company have a reputation for listening to what their customers want and trying to deliver. That is a great business model, give the people what they want and they will come.
They are making the products that people are asking for at their beauty counter and making them with ingredients that are compatible with European standards. The problem that I see is that some of their products are overhyped and some are just not that superior to others.
I still like the products or at least I like the concept of the products. Take Hollywood Flawless filter for example, great product as there was nothing like it on the market at that time. It does have its drawbacks, however. Then in steps Elf with one of my ride-or-die products. e.l.f. Halo Glow Liquid Filter Highlighter for $14.00 which doesn’t have those drawbacks for my skin. They did have the advantage of knowing the drawbacks of the original and knowing they could improve on it – to be fair. However, so could Charlotte, her company has had plenty of feedback on their products.
Other Dupe Companies
It isn’t just Charlotte Tilbury products though, it is many other high-end companies that have stuck gold with a product. Other Companies, like ELF and Beauty Pie, know that there are consumers out there who would rather pay a fair market price for a similar product. That is what competition is all about and we all know that most ingredients, packaging, and marketing don’t add up to the purchase of some products.
It was my love for dupes that led me to Beauty Pie and I still love so many of their products. Quite a few are made in the same factories as High-end brands. As in factories in Italy, where it so happens other brands have contracts for their products, as well. However, as of late, I have become disappointed with Beauty Pie’s ever-changing line of products. I find something that is high quality and then it is gone. Very disappointing, Beauty Pie.
They were one of the first in the mimicking game, but so was ELF. ELF has practically made a whole line out of it. Some of their products are even better than the product they are trying to mimic. Sometimes not. But always at an extremely fair price point.
A new player to the game
While scrolling on the Target website, as one does. I saw a product that reminded me of the Dior Iconic Blush. I am always looking for a similar product and I have found similar dupes. However, none of them have lived up to my expectations fully (some I have highlighted on this website). They have not been bad, just not exactly what I want.
So when I saw this one, I had to get it and I also needed to learn more about this new player. (If you don’t want to learn about this company, scroll down to my reviews of the products I purchased.
MCoBeauty
An Insight into the Brand’s Vision and Offerings.
This new company (to me) has recently expanded into the lucrative US market. It is an Australian cosmetics company that is the brainchild of Sydney entrepreneur Shelley Sullivan. According to Ms Sullivan, “This brand is all about luxe for less and providing quality products at a luxe for less price,” she told The Business. “Duping is what we call a pillar of our marketing strategy, and definitely not at the top of our funnel of how we market.”
The Sydney-based company says the practice (of duping or mimicking) is legal but has admitted to tightening up its processes after being sued twice for trademark infringement. Their mission is to deliver high-quality, affordable beauty products accessible to everyone. Founded with a clear vision of bridging the gap between luxury and budget-friendly cosmetics.
At the heart of MCoBeauty’s success is its unwavering commitment to quality and innovation. The brand prides itself on using the finest ingredients and state-of-the-art formulations to create products that deliver impressive results. Each item undergoes rigorous testing to ensure it meets the highest standards of performance and safety.
MCoBeauty continuously explores new trends and technologies, staying ahead of the curve to offer products that cater to the ever-evolving needs of its customers. From cutting-edge skincare solutions to vibrant makeup collections, the brand’s portfolio is a testament to its dedication to innovation and excellence.
The Dupes that I purchased and what I thought (REVIEW)

In case, you just want the review, here it is for 3 of the first of many products I plan on trying.
Pink Blush
Let’s start with what caught my eye in the first place, the blush. It appears to be mimicking the Dior icon blush that brings this beautiful hue of pink to your cheeks.

Now, I have said that I have tried several dupes for this blush. I would say this one is the closest by far. I still think it isn’t quite the same formula or finely milled as the Dior. The color is fairly close. The pigment lasts a long time. It is beautiful. It is a matte blush with no highlight or glow to it. I feel that the Dior has a certain slight glow to it and this product does not. This product is also more powdery than the Dior, does that make sense?
Don’t let that stop you if you are looking for a beautiful, pink, and long-lasting blush. The packaging is not striking or of exceptional quality, but it isn’t extremely cheap. You are getting a great product for a good price.
The outstanding must purchase:
Now, the two outstanding products in the ones in the first 3 products that I purchased.
To be honest, I thought this product was probably going to be, perhaps, not awful. It was probably going to be okay at best. I have tried so many lip products in search of a lower cost alternative to the Langiene Lip Mask.

Okay this picture may look a little vulgar but in really life it depends on the angle. It mostly looks like the clearer pink. It was it is and the product is fabulous. I have been using it every night for months. It really is the closest thing I have found to the other amazing lip mask. I may try other colors as I think they have two others, but I think I will like the fairy floss the best.
Get this one. It is not sticky. Feels nurturing like you are doing something good for your lips.
A faint candy scent from the container but I can’t smell it on my lips.
I am not getting paid to tell you this stuff. I really do use everything I state in this blog or I will tell you if I don’t. In a future article, I may even show you my vast collection of products.
No. 2 – salted caramel and pistachio

I love the scent of Sol de Janeiro Cheirosa 62 perfume mist. Something about it just makes you happy. This one by MCoBeauty which they call No. 2 is so close. I can’t tell the difference and neither can others that smell the scent on you. People say you are wearing Cheirosa 62 but no I am wearing No. 2. Now, to be fair Sol de Janeiro Cheirosa 62 is only $25.00 for 90 ml. which isn’t a terrible price. MCoBeauty is $12.00 for the same about of product. That is half the price and right now I need all of the help I can get with the price of my favorite beauty products (as I try so many). Yes, I use my own money.
Packaging is just as good as the original. The lid fits tightly and I even traveled with it recently. No leaking at all. I would have been disappointed if it would have leaked but my luggage would have smelled great. Actually, that isn’t a bad idea to spritz a little in my luggage when I travel. Wouldn’t that be refreshing to smell as you opening up your luggage?
I would say run to go get these last two. You will thank me for it, I promise!
